Celebration and Prayers as Prof. Adaeze Oreh Joins Medicine's Top Rank
Professor Adaeze Odili Oreh, the newly appointed Professor of Medicine, was honored with a prayer session and reception hosted by her parents, His Excellency Sir Dr. Peter Odili, former governor of Rivers State, and Her Excellency Justice Mary Odili (JSC) Rtd. The event took place last weekend at the Odili family residence in GRA, Port Harcourt.
The prayer session was held at the chapel within the Odili residence. Though limited to a sizable number of guests, the occasion drew dignitaries from various walks of life, including His Excellency the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
Delivering the exhortation, Rev. Pius Kii congratulated Prof. Adaeze Oreh for making her parents proud. He also commended Sir Dr. Peter Odili and Justice Mary Odili for raising a daughter who attained the rank of Professor of Medicine at a relatively young age. Rev. Kii prayed for God's protection, progress, and continued unity for the Odili family.
Prof. Adaeze Oreh, the first child of the Odili family, is the immediate past Commissioner for Health in Rivers State. She currently teaches at PAMO University of Medical Sciences as a Professor of Medicine.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Ngozi Odu; former Deputy Governor, Chief Sir Dr. Gabriel Toby and his wife, Dame Christie Toby; the Vice Chancellor of PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Professor Smith I. Jaja; the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi; respective members of the Bar and the Bench; and other prominent citizens.
The prayer session was followed by goodwill messages and speeches, after which guests were treated to a well-appointed lunch.
